I was in town and bombs went off, smoke was drifting into the sky, I went up the Queens library tower to take these photos. It was 6th December 1971 when Marcus Wards printing works was bombed and burnt out (it was replaced by a cinema in 1992 which is now being demolished to make way for an office block)

Bloody Friday, the next day on Botanic Avenue at Gardeners newsagent. 2 car bombs had destroyed the veg shop and damaged other shops all buildings now sadly demolished.
